Next HUG Meeting:

June 9: Curriculum Sale

6:30-8:30

HUG Members:

bring your own table and change, and be ready to go before the meeting starts at 6:30!

Please return all HUG Library materials TONIGHT!

There is NO Childcare at this meeting. Please respect Timberline's Childcare policies by keeping your children (all under age 18) with you at all times.

There will be a table for membership sign-ups and renewals for the 2008/2009 school year. Bring your check for $25 and get INSTANT access to the NEW website!

What's NEW with HUG

LEADERSHIP:

As David and Rae finish their term as Facilitators, there has been no volunteer(s) to fill that position. The remaining Steering Committee members have taken on the challenge of running HUG as a team. Because of this change, HUG will be different! However, we're trusting that God is in charge of all the changes, and that HIS will is going to be done! If you have suggestions for the Steering Committee, or would like to be part of this team, you can contact them by logging in to the NEW website and going to the Steering Committee Forum. To get to the new website, click here.

COMMUNICATIONS:

The new website has many features that will allow for better communication among HUG members. First, each member is automatically included in the Membership Directory at membership registration. No more waiting until October for a membership directory! Second, the new website allows HUG to have multiple forums, just for HUG members, on a variety of homeschooling topics--and YOU get to choose which ones to be part of! Third, YOU get to choose how your e-mails come to you. Fourth, there are TWO calendars on the HUG website--one just for HUG members, and one for public viewing. ANY HUG member can post an event to the appropriate calendar--or both!

As Karri has finished her term as Newsletter Editor, and there has been no volunteer to fill that position, there is no HUG Newsletter at this time. If this is something you would like to take care of, please contact the Steering Committee by going to the new website and going to the Steering Committee Forum. To get to the new website, click here.

MEETINGS:

The HUG meetings for 2008/2009 will be on the second Monday of each month. Each meeting will have announcements, the sign-up table, and the HUG library. At this time, the Steering Committee is still in the planning process for the specific content of each meeting. If YOU would like to run a HUG meeting in this coming school year (such as the Talent Show or the Roundtable discussions), please contact the Steering Committee by going to the new website and going to the Steering Committee Forum. To get to the new website, click here.

HUG EVENTS:

Any HUG member can host a HUG event, such as a field trip or a class, and post it to the HUG calendar. Other HUG members can join the HUG event through a sign-up ON THAT CALENDAR EVENT. As an added bonus, once a HUG member has signed up for a HUG event, it automatically appears on the Welcome page whenever they log in to the new website!

COMMUNITY EVENTS:

Any HUG member can post community events that are of interest to homeschoolers by posting it to the Public Calendar. This includes anything from the library Asian Festival to Ben and Jerry's Free Cone day!

The HUG Steering Committee is trusting that these changes are part of God's plan for HUG, and that HUG will be a great support for Christian homeschoolers in the Fort Collins area!
